Item specifics 1997 MUSTANG II EXPERIMENTAL, 2 PLACE SIDE BY SIDE, GROUND IMPACT DAMAGE, NOT CRASHED!.THE MUSTANG II IS A HIGH PERFORMANCE, AEROBATIC CAPABLE 2 PLACE SIDE BY SIDE HOMEBUILT AIRPLANE WITH A LARGE SLIDING BUBBLE CANOPY, GOOD FLIGHT AND LANDING MANNERS, STABLE IN CRUISE.TOP SPEED IS OVER 200 MPH, WITH CRUISE SPEEDS IN THE 175 MPH RANGE.THE ORIGINAL MUSTANG II DESIGN, KNOWN AS THE BUSHBY MUSTANG, WAS PURCHASED BY MUSTANG AERONAUTICAL, AND THEY ARE STILL IN BUSINESS PRODUCING KITS !!THIS AIRPLANE HAS ONLY 495 HOURS SINCE NEW !!USED REGULARILY BUT NOT MUCH FOR CROSS-COUNTRY, ONLY PLEASURE HOPS.THE LAST ONE ENDED UNEVENTFULLY LAST WINTER, WHEN THE OWNER PARKED THE AIRPLANE BESIDE THE HANGER, WHILE HE WENT TO GET THE SNOWPLOW TO CLEAR OF A DUSTING OF SNOW THAT HAD FALLEN.JUST AS HE CAME AROUND THE CORNER OF THE HANGER, HE REMEMBERED WHERE HE HAD PARKED THE AIRPLANE!!TOO LATE!HE SLOWED, BUT COULD NOT STOP BEFORE IMPACTING THE LEFT ELEVATOR AND THE LEFT WING INSIDE THE AILERON. THE AIRPLANE ROLLED FORWARDAS A RESULT OF THE IMPACT, AWAY FROM THE PLOW, AND NO FURTHER DAMAGE WAS DONE.THE MUSTANG IS DESIGNED WITH A 3 PIECE WING, CONSISTING OF A CENTER SECTION ATTACHED TO THE FUSELAGE, AND OUTBOARD WING PANELS LEFT AND RIGHT,THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE CENTER SECTION, WHERE THE MAIN GEAR ATTACHES AND THE CENTER FLAP HINGES, AND NO DAMAGE TO THE FLAP.THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT WING, OR AILERON, AND EVEN THE LEFT AILERON APPEARS UNDAMAGED, AS THE POINT OF IMPACT WAS JUST INSIDE IT.THE LEFT WING REAR SPAR IS DENTED, AND THE SKINS IN THAT AREA ARE WRINKLED, BUT THE MAIN SPAR IS GOOD, THE ATTACH POINTS FOR BOTH SPARS LOOK GOOD, AND EVEN THE WINGTIP, WITH NAV-STROBE LIGHT, IS UNDAMAGED. THIS WAS VERY ISOLATED DAMAGE THAT DID NOT TRANSMIT TO OTHER ASSEMBLIES.THE LEFT SIDE OF THE HORIZONTAL STAB IS HEAVILY DAMAGED, AS IS THE LEFT ELEVATORTHE RIGHT SIDES OF THE HORIZONTAL AND THE RIGHT ELEVATOR WERE NOT DAMAGED.THE TAILCONE OF THE FUSELAGE IS WRINKLED RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE HORIZONTAL, AS A RESULT OF THE HORIZONTAL PUSHING FORWARD. THE FAIRING BETWEEN THE FUSELAGE AND THE VERTICAL IS DENTED, AND THERE IS A VERY SMALL DENT IN THE VERTICAL, BUT IT IS NOT HEAVILY DAMAGED.THE RUDDER WAS NOT AFFECTED AND IS UNDAMAGED.THERE IS NO FUSELAGE DAMAGE FORWARD OF THAT FAR AFT TAILCONE.NO DAMAGE TO THE CABIN, AND THE CANOPY IS UNDAMAGED, SLIDES EASILY, AND MATES UP WITH THE UNDAMAGED WINDSHIELD AND ROLLBAR WELL.THERE IS NO BOOTCOWL DAMAGE, NO FIREWALL DAMAGE, AND NO ENGINE MOUNT DAMAGE.THE METAL COWLING AND THE FIBERGLASS NOSEBOWL ARE UNDAMAGED AS WELL.I’M SURE YOU HAVE NOTICED THAT THE 0-320 LYCOMING HAS BEEN UNBOLTED FROM THE MOUNT, AND IS NOT INCLUDED.ALL OF THE CABLES AND ATTACHMENTS ARE STILL INSTALLED, AS SHOWN, AND THIS SALE INCLUDES THE SPINNER, BACKING PLATES AND PROP SPACER, AS WELL AS THE INDUCTION AIRBOX.READY TO BOLT IN YOUR CHOICE OF 150 H.P., 160 H.P.
