This airplane kit was bought in 2001 as a factory quick build kit by an American Architect based in Manila doing 100 million+ dollar projects in Hong Kong.... It cost him over $85,000 new. + 15% VAT. It was shipped to an aircraft factory in the Philippines that makes all the Vans Aircraft quick build kits. The Owner then hired an American IA and professional builder to do all the structural bonding and assembly. The build records are perfect. I bought this project as a "Retirement" project. I am a retired Boeing Engineer living in the Philippines. The reason I am selling now is that I have sold my Cessna 185 Amphib. based here. I need to ship it to the USA this spring. So I want to send both planes in the same container. This saves me about $10,000 shipping. The 185 is going to Seattle but the Sea Wind can be shipped anywhere in the US from there for not too much more cost . I have also a 310HP Lycoming TIO-540 (Piper Navajo) and 76" 3 blade prop for this project. Add $10,000 plus $1,500 shipping for the engine an prop.. Best shipped at a later date.
