“Has a few small areas where there is paint chipping. The multi-function display is not picking up a tach signal, so a separate Tiny Tach is currently recording the RPMs. A tach pickup needs to be installed. The aircraft is slower than it should be in cruise, and rudder is necessary to keep the ball centered in cruise.” |
Make: | Sonex | Model Year: | 2010 |
Here are some of the specifics:
A William Wynne kit was purchased and the engine was assembled by a professional engine builder. It has the fifth bearing and an Aerocarb throttle body. The engine is currently tuned and is performing very well.
The prop is a Sensenich W54JYSL-44 wood prop
There is an MGL Stratomaster multi-function display in the cockpit, and a Microair Avionics M760 radio. The intercom is a Flightcom 403MC. There is not a transponder installed, but there is a cutout that would allow a Microair or Becker transponder.
I have the original build plans, the logbooks, the registration, the special airworthiness certificate, the weight and balance, the phase 1 & 2 test plan data, the Sonex flight manual and the manuals for the avionics.
I list this aircraft as a Corvair powered Sonex, but this combination is commonly referred to as a Cleanex. It is also listed this way on the special airworthiness certificate. I list it as a Sonex, as that is the more familiar name.
The aircraft is hangared at the Malcolm-McKinnon airport in St. Simons Island, GA (KSSI), and can be available for viewing upon scheduled request.
