2011 Bower"s FlyBaby Aircraft.Very low time Corvair powered FlyBaby, w/IC-A200 comm, Narco AT50A transponder and folding wings. The 100 HP Corvair engine was built by the original builders at Corvair College #9. I bought this FlyBaby from an airplane/machinery online auction from the original builders, sight unseen. I thought I would fit in the cockpit, but being 6’2”, my shins are up against the forward bulkhead and can’t reach the rudder pedals. I already have a couple of project planes and don’t want to take on another one. Regrettably, I am now selling the plane.
It’s a real beauty, well built and in like new, excellent condition. The wood is all sealed, and T-88 epoxy was used in the construction. Aircraft grade wood and hardware used throughout the aircraft. New battery installed and the engine starts right up and runs. Fabric is Stits, well done and the airplane has always been hangered. Extensive documentation includes builder’s log (multiple 3-ring binders), plans and manual, Corvair engine books and VHS tapes, and logbooks. The aircraft has an airworthiness certificate, Operation Limits, FAA files and need the Phase 1 forty hour testing completed. The conditional inspection expired in 2018, so it needs a current condition inspection. I have not flown it because it needs the inspection and I don’t fit.
I’m not interested in parting it out but you sure can! Keep the engine and sell the plane or keep the plane and sell the engine. What you do with it once you own it doesn’t matter to me, I just need it gone.
