2021 VANS RV-10, 26 SNEW, 1,060 SMOH IO-540, PROP STRIKE AND AIRFRAME DAMAGED, CHEAP!!THE RV-10 IS THE TOP OF THE VAN’S LINE OF ALUMINUM HOMEBUILT AIRCRAFT!THIS 4 PLACE AIRPLANE HAS BEEN COMPARED FAVORABLY TO THE CIRRUS SR-22 IN ALL PERFORMANCE CATEGORIES, BUT IT IS EXPERIMENTAL SO IT CAN BE MAINTAINED INEXPENSIVELY AND MODIFIED AT WILL BY THE PROPERLY APPROVED OWNER, NOT REQUIRING A “CIRRUS SERVICE CENTER”.THIS AIRCRAFT HAS A 250 H.P. LYCOMING 6 CYLINDER ENGINE INSTALLED, WITH 1,060 SMOH (2,000 HOUR TBO) WITH NUMEROUS UPDATES AND MODIFICATIONS:BOTH MAGS REPLACED WITH DUAL LIGHTSPEED PLASMA III ELECTRONIC IGNITION SYSTEMS.AIRFLOW PERFORMANCE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM THE OWNER OF THIS AIRCRAFT STATES THAT WITH 26 HOURS OF FLIGHT TIME, AFTER A 13 YEAR BUILD, HE WAS STILL HAVING TROUBLE GETTING THE FUEL SYSTEM JUST RIGHT WHEN THE ENGINE QUIT, JUST BEFORE LANDING.THE AIRCRAFT LANDED 100 YARDS SHORT OF THE RUNWAY IN UNFAVORABLE TERRAIN AND SUSTAINED QUITE A BIT OF DAMAGE.THE 2 BLADE PROP WAS BENT, MOSTLY ON ONE BLADE, BECAUSE IT WAS NOT PRODUCING POWER AT THE TIME (PROP IS NOT INCLUDED, I THINK THEY LET THE BUILDER KEEP IT AS A KEEPSAKE)THE STARTER RING GEAR IS UNDAMAGED AND INCLUDED.NOSEGEAR TUBE IS BROKEN AND THE NOSEGEAR WHEEL AND FORK ARE NOT INCLUDED (NO EXPLANATION GIVEN ON WHERE IT WENT).THE TUBULAR ENGINE MOUNT IS DAMAGED, AS IS THE AIR FILTER PLENUM (SLIGHTLY), BUT THE AIRFLOW PERFORMANCE FUEL CONTROLLER IS NOT DAMAGED. NONE OF THE ENGINE ACCESSORIES ARE DAMAGED AT ALL (LIGHTWEIGHT STARTER AND ALTERNATOR, ADDITIONAL REAR MOUNTED 2ND ALTERNATOR, FUEL SYSTEM, DUAL LIGHTSPEED SYSTEM) AND THE ENGINE SHOWS NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE AND TURNS FINE (FUEL ISSUE, NOT TOES UP).EVEN THE FANCY EXHAUST SYSTEM LOOKS GOOD, WITH ONLY ONE TAILPIPE AND ONE MUFFLER SHROUD PARTIALLY FLATTENED.THE FIREWALL AND FIRST BELLY SKIN ARE BOTH DAMAGED AND THERE IS A CRACK IN THE COMPOSITE RUNNING AROUND THE FRONT OF THE WINDSHIELD.IN ORDER TO ACCESS THE LIGHTSPEED COMPUTERS, THE NTSB IN THEIR INFINITE WISDOM CUT AN ACCESS HOLE IN THE FORWARD SHEET METAL, JUST A SKIN THERE, BUT REALLY?THE LIGHTSPEED BOXES ARE STILL WIRED UP AND INCLUDED.BOTH MAIN GEAR GEARBOXES ARE DAMAGED AND THE GEAR LEGS THEMSELVES WERE CUT FOR TRANSPORTATION, BUT THE WHEELS AND BRAKES ARE UNDAMAGED.THE MAIN WING SPAR CARRYTHROUGH ON BOTH SIDES DOES NOT SHOW ANY OBVIOUS DAMAGE.IN FACT, AFT OF THE MAIN GEAR BOXES, THE FUSELAGE IS VIRTUALLY COMPLETELY UNDAMAGED, WITH THE EXCEPTION BEING THE FAR AFT TAILCONE BULKHEAD, ABOVE THE TIEDOWN RING!!THE DOORS FIT NICELY, OPEN AND CLOSE SMOOTHLY AND FASTEN TIGHTLY. THE LEFT SIDE WINDOW IS POPPED OUT (NO EXPLANATION), BUT THE DOOR SHOWS NO DAMAGE, SO JUST RE-GLUE LOOKS LIKE THE ANSWER.LIKEWISE, THE TAIL FEATHERS ALL LOOK VERY GOOD, WITH ONLY SOME CRACKING TO THE FIBERGLASS LOWER RUDDER CAP!BOTH WINGS ARE DAMAGED, AS ARE THE FLAPS AND AILERONS, WITH THE RIGHT SIDE BEING ONLY SLIGHTLY DAMAGED AND THAT TIP BEING GOOD.THE FIBERGLASS UPPER COWL HAS ONLY ONE SMALL CRACK BUT THE FIBERGLASS LOWER COWL WAS TORN AND WAS DISCARDED.INSIDE, THE FRONT SEATS ARE INSTALLED AND UNDAMAGED, BUT THE REAR SEAT PADS WERE NOT INSTALLED YET AND THEREFORE ARE NOT INCLUDED.THIS WAS A FLYING PLANE, SO ALL CONTROLS, RUDDER PEDALS, ACTUATORS, STICKS, ETC. ARE INSTALLED AND INCLUDED.THERE ARE NO AVIONICS, ENGINE GAUGES OR AUTOPILOT SYSTEMS INCLUDED IN THIS SALE, AS THIS IS OFTEN A VERY PERSONAL DECISION, SO WE WON’T TIE YOU TO WHAT HE HAD.THE DASH CUTOUTS FIT 10” DISPLAYS, WHICH ARE NOT INCLUDED!
