This aircraft won Grand Champion Classic Division Oshkosh 2004 and a Gold Lindy Sun n Fun 2004. Butch called this "My finest restoration". Butch said he picked this aircraft to restore because "Even though much of it was left to waste away the glove box was intact and in good shape and they are darn hard to find." Three owners since restoration and I know them all and they were all very meticulous in caring for this airplane. Always hangared. Always pampered. This airplane is ALL ORIGINAL (Oil filter, Shoulder harnesses and Scott 3200 Tailwheeladded for safety) . VFR panel. Paint 11/10. Interior 10/10.
Butch rebuilt 5 Stinsons, Two won grand champion at Oshkosh. He should have won a third but he argued with the judges about one screw that they said was not of the time period. Upon arriving home Butch researched that particular screw and found out that Stinson used 5 different screw during that time period and his was authentic! Butch was right and should have won his third Grand Champion! That"s the type of care Butch used when restoring this airplane.
If you know about Stinson then you know that Butch Walsh was the Guru of Stinson. He was absolutely the best restorer of Stinson until his passing. Butch and his wife did all the work during restoration, engine, interior, airframe and painting. The paint on this airplane looks better than when it came out of the factory! Most Stinson owners know about this plane and wished they owned it. Now you have the chance!
