All Air Worthiness Directives have been complied with to date. There are normal imperfections, minor dings and scratches, but nothing significant at all.” |
Make: | Aeronca Chief | Model Year: | 1946 |
Do you want to fly for the enjoyment of flying ?? Do you want to fly an Airplane that will burn 3 1/2 gallons of auto gas--regular alcohol free for one hour ?? This Little Chief qualifies as LIGHT SPORT under the FAA rules and regulations. If you passed your last physical, and you have at least a Private Pilots license. If you know your health is good, and you have a current Drivers license, then you can fly this Chief under Light Sport !!!!! OR You can get the Light Sport License and fly to your hearts content. ( Much easier and quicker than A Private Pilots license.) This Chief was rebuilt in 2007, and recovered with the Poly fiber Covering, and got a new custom interior. The engine is the reliable A-65 Continental with 1100 hours since a Chrome Cylinder Major Overhaul. The engine runs great, compression in the 70"s, very little oil consumption, and turns static almost 2300. That is a strong engine.....If you have the WINNING BID, I will include a NEW ANNUAL from a very reputable A & I. This Plane is not perfect , but for a 1946, she looks really nice. She has some minor scratches and imperfections, but don"t they all ?? There is nothing that affects her Airworthiness. You and a passenger can soar with the Eagles. The baggage capacity is 40 pounds with the storage behind the seat in the baggage compartment. The header tank holds 15 gallons, and with the auxillary tank of 8 gallons behind the cabin, she holds 23 Gallons of Auto gas with the AUTO GAS STC... The last Pure gas I bought cost $2.55 a gallon... She also has a nice metal prop, and she has wheel pants. I have a little battery , in the plane, and I use my I Fly 720 GPS, and with the external antenna, I use a hand held aircraft radio. She has an intercom for you and a passenger to use with your headsets, and she even has FAA approved Cylinder Head temp gauges for all four cylinders. She has a good VFR panel with a rate of climb instrument !!! The last photograph shows the 100 Year old pilot I bought the plane from.( In January 2015 AOPA) When I bought the plane, I flew her from Boliver, Missouri (close to Oklahoma) all the way to Hendersonville, N.C. Eugene, he is 101 now and going strong, told me that it was a little hard getting in the plane, and his daughter thought it was time to stop owning a plane. I don"t know if he is still flying or not, but I understand he is a regular at the airport named after him. Why am I selling the plane????? Well, I bought a 2012 Zenith CH 601 XL B near Tulsa, and I flew it home a few days ago. I recently sold my SE5-A ultralight, and my wife thinks one Airplane is enough.. I agree with her.. If you are the Winning Bidder, and you come to Hendersonville to get your plane, and YOU FEEL she is not what you thought, I will give you Your Deposit back and cancel the sale. You see, I have a 100% Ebay rating and I plan to keep it.. GOOD LUCK BIDDING........................................................ |
