This will be an auction for a CVJETKOVIC CA-65 SKYFLY that has been partially completed. The current condition of the plane is as shown in the 2nd photo. The fuselage section and wing center section have been completed and are ready to be joined. Currently they are separate pieces so the transport is still easy. The twin fuel tanks are complete as are the rudder pedals, the metal floorboard, and control sticks. The control cable system leading to the elevator has also been completed. The wing center section is setup for retracts and the optional folding wings. The outer wing panels have not been started yet. Most of the difficult time consuming jobs have been completed. The plan set was damaged a couple years ago and are unusable. A new set can be purchased on line at a moderate cost to complete the build. The new plan set will give the new owner all needed information to compete and register the plane. The CA-65 is very similar in design to a Robinson KR-2 just a little larger airframe and with more room in the control cabin. The specifications for the CA-65 Sky Fly can be seen below.
DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS: * This is the CA-65 SKYFLY High Performance Two Seater, which can be built using a standard Lycoming, the Rotax 912 Engines, or others of your choosing. Plans show installation of the Lycoming and Rotax. One has been built with a Lycoming 0320 and a Mc Cauly const. speed prop and cruises at 180 mph. But normal cruise with a 0290 and standard prop is 160mph. The CA-65 is a Low Wing Monoplane with retractable landing gear and dual controls. The high degree of efficiency of this airplane gives very economic performance at all speeds. To achieve this, special attention was given to obtain low drag over the entire airplane. The streamlined canopy, completely enclosed engine, tapered wing, and fully retracted landing gear are the main contributing factors. A simple landing flap, located under the fuselage makes landing runs shorter. The fully retractable landing gear option is unique and very simple to construct, The retractable landing gear was designed especially for this airplane and included in the plans at no extra charge. The total weight of the Retractable landing gear was in some cases considerably lighter than the weight of the fixed gear it replaced. The CA-65B is designed for stresses encountered during basic acrobatic flights. Ultimate design "G" loading is +9 and -6g"s. Wood construction allows very efficient design, cutting requirement for tooling and special jigs to a minimum. Most of the wing ribs, as well as all the ribs in the stabilizer and vertical fin are simply cut out of 3/8 thick marine mahogany plywood. This type of construction greatly simplifies and shortens the time required to build this airplane. The entire airplane is covered with plywood, birch or mahogany 1/16" to 1/8" in thickness. Only the ailerons, elevator and rudder are fabric covered. You can see by the finished pictures this airplane looks like it is all metal because the finish looks so good.
