This is a very nice Cessna Skyhawk 172 it is a 1971 model "L", SN 17259556. It had an annual inspection of 4/1/2016 and had only 95.5 hours on the overhauled engine at that time. It is approximately 105 hours now. The engine was overhauled 12/23/08 by Triad Aviation in Burlington, NC, an authorized Lycoming facility with a first-class reputation. Almost all parts were new Lycoming parts, not overhauled or repaired. New cylinders, new pistons, new rings, cam, lifters, rod and main bolts, etc. All accessories including magnetos were replaced by either new or overhauled components. I have all the work orders, all documents, all logbooks since it was born. Total time on airframe 4339 since new. My wife and I have owned this aircraft for 26 years and it has been hangared for all that time. I used to fly this airplane on business trips and is fully IFR equipped. All required inspections and certifications are current. The interior is Gulfstream leather and woven wool, just like the business jets and the interior was done just after the engine overhaul. It is very nice. I have burn certs for the materials. Seats were re-strung and seat rails were replaced on the pilot side. The plastic interior trim was removed and replaced with fiberglass and looks very nice. I have the STC for the fiberglass trim. It has an autofuel STC and runs very well on regular grade pump gas. It was painted in Sylvania, Georgia just after the engine overhaul. It is painted with Dupont urethane paint and is in excellent condition. All the plastic external trim was replaced with fiberglass parts when it was painted. The instrument panel was also completely redone just after the overhaul and is a CNC aluminum panel with no plastic trim like the stock panel This is the same treatment as new Skyhawks and much easier to access and is very clean looking. Avionics include: -Narco Mark 12D TSO flip flop digital nav-com with localizer-glide slope, marker beacons, and DME -King KX-175B TSO nav-com -Audio Switching Panel with 4 place intercom and inputs for all avionics. It includes an additional marker beacon receiver and annunciator LEDs -King KR-86 ADF Receiver -King KT-76A transponder and encoder. Everything works, no "dead stuff in the panel. I have installed dual yoke mounts for Ipads that provide GPS moving map functionality. They are mounted with velcro and very stable. Why are we selling it? Well my wife and I are both pilots, but we are 73 now and just don"t fly as much as we used to, additionally we have a small homebuilt airplane we are using more. We dont have any kids at home anymore and don"t need a four place plane. The plane was previously listed and after numerous delays of more than 6 weeks, the bidder would not pay after never seeing the airplane. in 6 weeks! If you win the bid you MUST come inspect it within 2 weeksor I can have your choice of several disinterested nearby mechanics inpect it for you .On Dec-18-16 at 13:45:56 PST, seller added the following information:The plane can be seen in Lancaster, SC, fly into SC76, 8 miles NE of KLKR. 803-804-9191On Dec-19-16 at 07:40:55 PST, seller added the following information:I have been asked numerous questions. Useful load is 895.3 lbsOn Dec-20-16 at 14:47:47 PST, seller added the following information:I have been asked if whoever might win the bid will have the opportunity to verify the plane is as advertised and airworthy after a personal inspection. The answer of course is YES. Anyone spending this much money should have the opportunity to see the aircraft and verify it is what I say it is. I have access to a heated hangar right here on our private strip and you can either come with a mechanic or I can arrange for a A&P, IA to be here while you inspect it.
