I have had the plane for six years and commuted to Seattle in it regularly. It started making metal in May and needs a bottom end rebuild on the O-300 engine. When I flew the plane it was a really wonderfully straight flyer but I have another plane to fly for my commute, so 89L has to go. I have all the log books and the AD history. I have quotes from two shops to rebuild the O-300 engine for $22,000. Air Plains will put in an STC O-360 180HP engine for $55,000. With that conversion the useful load would be over 1000 pounds but you lose 10 degrees of flaps. There are several mechanics on the field who will either install a rebuilt engine or prepare the plane for shipping. N3989L
