This is a 1984 Flightstar, it has been strengthened, and customized to look like newer version spider. In many ways it surpasses the new version. Has 62 hp. Rotax, with about 150 hours, and so does the airframe. Front pod and rear enclosure has been customized and fabricated out of fiber glass. 8 gallon gas tank, plus 1 gallon reserve. Consumes a little over 3 gallons an hour at 70 mph.
Climb rate is excellent at 900-1100 ft. per minute. Has telescopic front fork suspension. Super strong main gear, chrome molly fabrication with coil spring dampening. Lands at 50 mph. Engine runs flawlessly, and is in top notch condition. With water pump problem corrected. Has electric start, with more than ample cooling system. Doors are removable, left door has gas rod lift. Both doors can be removed in less than 5 minutes. With doors closed you can use a cell phone in the plane easily. Very dependable aircraft. Wing covers are still very strong.
