If you are looking for a fast and economical aircraft, look no further than the American General AA1. You also want the 69 model. In 1970 American General changed the wing to a slower airfoil. The 1969 AA1 wing is 10mph faster than all other later AA1 models! The engine in this airplane has an amazing 2400 hour time between overhauls. At only 1165 hours since the last overhaul on this engine, and only 16 hours since a complete top overhaul, there will be many hours of flying to go. Now is the time to buy that airplane you have always wanted. This is a very clean and corrosion free airframe. It will cruise up to 135mph with fuel flows in the 5 to 6 gph range. It fly’s great. I just finished a 600nm trip with 128mph at 5.5gph at 6500msl. Used 1/3 qt oil in 6hrs. I have spent over $14K in recent maintenance. My loss, your gain! This aircraft has an auto fuel STC. You can fly this airplane on 80 octane or greater auto fuel for a $1/gallon reduction in operating costs. If they get rid of 100LL as they are considering, you will still be flying! All times listed are approximate, as this aircraft is flying regularly. This aircraft does not qaulify in the Light Sport Category. A Privat Pilot"s license or higher is required. I am in Dallas, TX, but the aircraft in hangered in Panama City, Florida. The airport identifier is 2FL0. I can arrange for a local party to show the aircraft. We can help you arrange a pre-buy inspection. Aircraft is for sale locally, and I reserve the right to cancel the sale ad at anytime. Now for the lawyer stuff: All specifications are subject to verification. I have done my best to completely and accurately describe this aircraft. However, it is the buyer’s responsibility to verify all descriptions and specifications. This is a used aircraft and therefore is sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied. |
