Up for sale is a Single seat Kolb Firestar! I am listing it for my brother in law who acquired it last year. At that time it had not been flown for at lease 5 years and stored in a cover transport trailer made for the plane. It is very rough and is something on the order of 15 to 20 years old, experience says that pics are usually better than on site viewing.It has the old style joy stick, is likely unregistered, and needs the engine gone through certainly. The engine is not frozen, and does have compression.
The single carb 503 Rotax is unusual, most of them have dual carbs along with the dual ignition.
Watch out for the end seals, they tend to rot. The cooling fan belt would need replacing.
Tail wheel axle is bent...the ballistic chute is a soft pack. and most likely not usable in this day and time..
Trailer is likely to need attention before putting on the road...and the tires are small boat style..12"s or 13"s. Likely the base for it was a boat trailer... The cover would not hold up at highway speeds ...so needs removing or repair
The seat webbing shows steel rivets...which is a sign of the age of the plane....Kolb stopped using them in 1998 or 1999...when the factory was sold... All stainless after that..
The plane is not safe to fly as is.. needs a complete refurbishment! You will be required to sign a release of liability on pickup of plane.
