Up for sale is my first airplane that I bought to train in and fly after completing my private pilot license. 1965 Mooney M20C 6162.5 total time since new, engine time since new 1053.83, prop total time 6131.23 and prop time since major overhaul 2911.03. Last annual June 2016, annual due July 1, 2017. Extensive work done at last annual and all issues with this Mooney were addressed at that time, brand new starter, mags, ignition harness, ignition, flywheel, etc. Solid airplane that I have flown about 55 hours since taking ownership. NO major damage history. I have flown the airplane everywhere I have wanted to go with no issues. Electric gear system overhauled along with jack screw in July 2016 and works excellent. Burns about 8.5 GPH and cruises all day at about 140 knots depending on power settings. I see groundspeeds of 160kts all the time. N78898 has a lot of speed mods and nice glass. 201 style windshield and side windows with 1/4" glass and single piece belly skin make this Mooney much faster than most M20C. Even has 201 wing tips and wing mods and a 201 style rear tie down. Has hydraulic flaps and electric gear instead of the Johnson"s Bar, makes me feel like I"m actually flying a real airplane. Has King KX-155 with glideslope for shooting VOR and ILS or Localizer approaches. Has a King KLX 135A GPS that has not been updated, and I use that for the secondary radio. Installed King KT 74 transponder, so this Mooney is 2020 compliant with ADS-B out. Certified IFR and static system till July 17. Has DME that works and I have used it before King KN 64, display is hard to read due to dimness, but works just fine for me. King KMA 20TSO audio panel. I have addressed everything that I am aware of and hate to lose my Mooney, but I am flying my other airplane much more and feel the Mooney would be happier being flown more. Around 940lb useful load, full fuel is 52 gallons, just had tanks resealed and no more leaks! Could use a good paint job, but paint still shows well. Interior could use some work but is in 6 out of 10 condition. Paint is 6 out of 10 as well to me. Tires are in good shape. I have spent a lot of money to get my Mooney into good shape and I would fly it anywhere right now. Might consider delivery for costs of trip, but I would rather not. 180HP Lycoming 0-360 A1D, need a complex rating to fly it due to retractable gear.
