This is a rare NASA plane panel. It from T-38 BuNu 59-1598 and from what we have learned was the 4th T-38 ever made. It was loaned from the Air Force to NASA to be a chase plane for some of the X projects Mainly the X-15 if you look at the one photo you can see this plane with the X-15. Later this plane was transfered to the Navy and went to Top Gun to simulate a Mig. Navy number was QT-38A. Panel come with the instruments pictured and also the glair shield. 59-1594 ... 59-1601 (EXACT MATCH) Northrop T-38A-15-NO Talon c/n N.5107/5114 1594/1598 transferred to US Navy as DT-38A 1594 lster converted to QT-38A which included ECM function 1595 seen at Kelly AFB, Texas in 1997. Displayed at Weatherfor, Oklahoma marked as 67-14956. 1596 later converted to QT-38A which included ECM function. SOC due to damage Dec 20, 1980. 1598 later converted to QT-38A which included ECM function 1594, 1598, 1597, 1600 seen in either Fighter Weapons School (Top Gun) or Chinal Lake markings. 1600 (c/n N.5113) to US Navy as DT-38A, converted to QT-38A. SOC due to damage Mar 3, 1981. Gate guard at Williams AFB, Arizona in Oct 1992 marked 82 FTWS. Noted apparently dumped at Williams Gateway AP, AZ Mar 15, 2003. In 2010 was mounted on pole at Phoenix-Mesa Gate Airport (used to be Williams AFB) 1601 (c/n N.5114) noted Mar 2006 at Maxwell AFB Collection, Montgomery, AL painted as 3800.
