Partially completed Nemesis NXT kit plane. This airplane, airframe kit 008 from SLO Air has been professionally constructed by Aerochia. It was being built for Reno, Super Sport Class air racing and the establishment of world speed records. I have elected not to continue the project and have decided to sell the airframe.
The majority of the composite work is completed. The wing leading edges still need to be bonded in place and the area between the firewall and the front edge of the wing spar closed out (normally done after installation of the instrument panel). In addition, there is a plug for the cowling but the cowling itself still needs to be fabricated. The airplane is on the gear and all of the mechanical gear linkage has been installed. The hydraulic power pack and plumbing requires fabrication and install as well as wiring for electrics and avionics installation. All flight controls have been installed. Our tail is currently held in place with non-structural screws. Our intention was to use structural bolts to hold the tail until flight testing was completed, then glass the empennage in place. The empennage is designed to be removable. Glassing it in place is at the builders discretion. The engine mount has not been fabricated leaving power plant choice to the next builder.
This airframe has been modified from the original kit. It features the enlarged vertical stabilizer found on most other NXT"s beyond the prototype. In addition, the airplane features an enlarged horizontal stabilizer. The airplane has also been modified with internal wing fuel tanks increasing fuel capacity by apx 50 gallons. The stock 90 gallon header tank is installed also giving the aircraft a total fuel capacity of apx 140 gallons.
