“North American Navion, annual expired last November, flying and ferry-able.”
Model Year: 1948 Navion Make: North American Aviation
The North American Navion was built by North American Aviation right after the P-51 Mustangs of WWII to cater to the returning pilots. It"s pedigree is visually obvious with the sliding canopy, tail surfaces and landing gear. It is a very strongly built aircraft. This aircraft has a total time of 2588 hrs. The Continental 225 HP engine was zero timed by Western Skyways in 1971 at 1501 hrs so now has a total time of 1087. The engine was also recently overhauled in 2010. The Hartzell HC-12x20-7D prop was overhauled in Aug of 2016. The aircraft was in annual until last November 2017. It has a relatively new new ignition harness, battery, tires, left side brake disc vaccum pump and the new Sierra Aero fuel valve (meeting the AD reqmt). Avionics include King KMD150 GPS w/moving map display, PS Engineering PS6000 Audio panel, two Narco Com 810 TSO coms and a King KT79 digital transponder with encoder. As far as damage history goes, the aircraft was partially submerged in fresh water flooding of the airport in Chehalis, WA back in 2010. After that the then owner had new interior put in and at the same time had the engine overhauled (I"m not sure if that was related or just timing). I have not had any problems with the aircraft related to that event since it was fresh water and the aircraft was fully zinc chromate primed inside and out by the manufacturer. I have complete logs and have started the airplane in the Adlog system for logs and AD updates. The last annual compressions were: #1 74, #2 73, #3 73, #4 64, #5 68 and #6 72 This is a very nice flying and good looking aircraft. Buyers are encouraged to come out to the airport in Newport, OR to see it before bidding as although I"ve tried to convey everything, there is nothing like seeing it for yourself. Naturally, the aircraft is sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied. Currently known issues include COM1 Inop (display failed), right wing strobe inop, slight oil leak from engine (unknown where from exactly) and the canopy needs a headliner.
