Custom hand built flight simulator modeled after a F 86D. My uncle designed and built this for me.

Item specifics
Condition: Used
Custom hand-built flight simulator modeled after a F-86D. My uncle designed and built this for me while I was young as I wanted to be a fighter pilot. It has been featured on the front page of newspapers and is truly a one-of-a-kind piece. The gauges such as the altimeter, flaps, flight horizon gyroscope with adjustable horizon, airspeed indicator, scanning radar, rudder pedals and fuel all work in unison. There is a selection for missiles, bombs and machine guns with corresponding noises when items are fired. The cockpit seat is fully adjustable so if you need more or less legroom, that is no problem. The radar scans and shows "targets". The simulator is set up for a microphone, headset jack and fresh air line vented to the exterior. I can potentially include the custom designed flight helmet and air mask with the purchase if you would like as well.
As my uncle was a brilliant and methodical man, the full electrical board schematics and build sheets from the designer and builder will be included with the sale. The nose and side panels come off easily for maintenance or access to any of the electronic boards, fuses, gauges, etc. This means that should any issues arise with it, you will have what you need to get it sorted.
Some of the pictures show the side marker lights (which work) off the simulator and the sockets bare. The lights are included and were removed simply to avoid any damage while the simulator was in storage. In addition, the pictures do not show the repaired crack in the canopy very well. Someone getting out of the simulator used the canopy to help them exit and it caused a crack that was repaired, but still visible.
Length (without nose cone on) is ~76"
Length (with nose cone on) is ~100"
Width is ~36"
Height is ~54"
Weight is ~100-120 pounds
Some of the pictures were taken with the adjustable seat taken out so that you could view the interior better. It has been in a climate controlled storage unit for the past few years, so it will likely need a quick run through to make sure everything is working as it should. Sold as-is and where is. Included with the sale will be a book of pictures with notes from the builder, a binder full of the original schematics and build sheets and a box of spare parts (fuses, connectors, circuit boards, chips, etc.). I will include the helmet and mask as well with the sale.
A truly one-of-a-kind piece of machinery and something you will never again see for sale. I am moving to Washington, D.C. and think it is time to let someone else have the joy and enjoyment that I got out of it. Simulator is located in Southwest Florida (Fort Myers area) and I would recommend contacting Craters and Freighters of Southwest Florida to have them crate and ship the simulator. Arrangements have been made with the current storage unit and she must be picked up by no later than August 15, 2016. Non-refundable deposit of $500 is due within 48 hours of auction close. Item is being relisted, so please do not bid unless you plan on paying and picking up in Southwest Florida (or having Craters and Freighters pick up) by no later than August 15, 2016. Any questions, feel free to ask me!
