This horizontal tail jack screw assembly is from a 1941
J3 Piper Cub. This airplane had only 234 hours
when it was crashed in 1948. It is the
welded up steel version, not the aluminum casting found on post war cubs. The jack screw runs in a 1 inch thick brass
block and the threads are in good condition (Not much wear – axial play) and it
runs smoothly. It comes with the
installed pulley and the adjustment pulley mechanism. This was glass bead blasted, primered, and
painted with Lock Haven Yellow enamel. This
is what you need if you want your early J-3 to be authentic. No yellow tag so buyer must determine air
worthiness. I am an honest eBay seller, if it is not as advertised, I
will buy it back. You may check my
