Artist: Douglas W. Nielson was born in Syracuse, New York in n1957. Growing up around all types of aircraft, from antiques to jets, Doug"s background is one of three generations in aviation. His grandfather started the family in 1939 with a Travelair 4-D
Learning to fly at an early age, Doug acquired a vast working knowledge of airplanes and their operation. This knowledge has afforded him the ability to portray his subjects in an accurate and authentic manner with the strictest attention given to detail.
As an independent artist, Doug has been commissioned by corporations and individuals to paint various aircraft for both commercial and personal use.
