“New in 1999, $18,229.99 installed Minnesota. Cub yellow faded below waterline. Freshwater only lake. No missing parts, Though would always recommend the installer always used fresh bolts and cable. 261.8 hours flown. Removed and hung in dry storage, 2003. See photos. Bilges have no corrosion, Bulkheads like new. Never holed or patched. Rudders need to touched up with fresh paint, but floats have very good Poly Enamel, even that it has been >10 years since painting. These were originally factory painted white, but repainted to match yellow supercub when installed in 2001. Being not exposed to sun, the paint is very nice (except for lake-water fading below waterline).”
Make: Aqua, 1900 Model (displacement 1900lb each float) Model Year: 2000- straight floats, flat deck, dual rudders
Purchased Minnesota, 2009. Installed on PA18 4/09/2001. At Lake WA, Seattle. Flown 261.8 hours only from Lacamas Lake, Camas WA, and on the Columbia River, removed on 10/7/2003 at Pearson Airfield. Hoisted into hangar rafters and stored ever since. Never exposed to elements. Never holed or patched. Flat deck Aqua 1900s. Rigged for PA18. STC and rigging drawings included. AFM supplement for PA18 included. W&B (though of course you"ll have to use your new BOW. ) All parts included, though always best to use brand new bolts and S/S cables when installing floats.
These all aluminum flat top floats seem to be the greatest for Supercubs. Arguably, it far beats the EDO 2000s or the others. Light enough (about 250 pounds) for any PA18. Good flotation, (see the faded yellow water line mark in photo, showing waterline of fully fueled PA18 sitting idle) Fishing from this is also great. to fish off of flat deck. Good cargo hatches both sides. Very strong keel construction. The broad V-hull and step placements are great for takeoff runs, and do not draw much water when hull-borne (land on the lillypads, stop in water 12" deep). I am the original user of these floats. No other owners have flown these floats. A cub with these Aqua 1900s can get in and out of some amazingly small high lakes. I don"t have a seaplane prop, but could only imagine the added performance.
My PA18-150 with 74", 1760 TOW, cruise prop is on the step in 7 seconds from DIW. Selling now because I"m on wheels with no water available on ranch. These can be easily slid into a RentaTruck or on a flat bed trailer. Very light to haul. A PA-18 takes off easily with these from a dolly or trailer behind a P/U truck.
Serious seller"s remorse, as I am no longer on the water with my cub. :(
