This is my Volmer VJ-22 project that I am selling. I have two of these and I only have time to build one. I am hoping the new builder will stay in contact about this airplane. It has Good workmanship and is structurally sound. Included with sale is fuselage, wings, ailerons, rudder, instrument panel, fiberglass nose cap, wheels, brakes, rudder pedals, main landing gear, flight control sticks, wing struts, sponson floats, engine mount for a Franklin, canopy frame and windshield frame. Most of the woodwork is completed and most of all the steel parts are done and included. Some of the parts are from a previously flying aircraft. There are a couple of cracked ribs on the wings which are easily repairable. I have new trailing edges for the wings and ailerons. What is not included: Engine, propeller, horizontal tail and elevators, canopy, tail wheel, paint and covering materials. The aircraft uses a Champ tail and the drawings for the tail are in the plans. Tail wheel plans are included also. Also included are a complete set of plans. There are no builders logs or other paperwork. There is enough work left for the builder to get a repairman"s certificate for this aircraft completion. Then the builder can legally do his own annuals and all repairs. The kit is very complete and I am selling for pennies on the dollar of what the materials cost.I have a low reserve and a buy it now of $2000. I also have it advertised on barnstormers.Google VJ-22 Sportsman and look at some of the nice completed planes there. Yours can be just as nice and exactly the way you want it when you finish the build. Most of the hard work is done. There are a variety of engines you can use. I am putting a 125HP Franklin and constant speed pusher prop on mine. Others have flown with the small Continentals and Lycomings, Covairs, and Subarus, and probably others as well. The choice is yours.I like the wood construction because it will not corrode. The wood will last for many decades if it is sealed with the West Epoxy system, which I plan to do on mine. I want to fly mine in and out of salt water and I did not want an aluminum airframe to corrode. I plan of flying mine around the barrier islands of Coastal Georgia near Savannah and to Florida. If you decide to buy and finish the build on this one I might be able to assist you if you need it for additional fees. (Reasonable of course) Phone calls are always free to builders. I am an A&P-I.A. mechanic and own an Aircraft Maintenance Shop in South Georgia. I have decades of experience on Experimental and Certified GA aircraft with a lot of fabrication work over the years. I plan on making some canopy and cowling molds to support the Volmer Community with new parts. I can also fabricate all the steel and aluminum parts also.Good Luck bidding. Maybe there is a VJ-22 formation flight in our futures!!! Current date: 2017-05-21
