1968 CHEROKEE 180D, ONLY 3872 TT, AVERAGE COSMETICS,ISOLATED TAIL DAMAGE ONLY, NO P/S, CHEAP !! IF YOU HAVE FOLLOWED MY LISTINGS FOR LONG, YOU MIGHT REMEMBER THAT THE 1968 AND UP CHEROKEE 180 “D” IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE AIRPLANES !! THESE AIRPLANES HAVE THE 3RD SIDE WINDOW, WHICH LIGHTENS THE CABIN UP VISUALLY AND INCREASES OUTWARD VISIBILITY. THE DASH IS A TOTAL UPGRADE, WITH QUADRANT THROTTLE, 6 PACK GUAGE LAYOUT, TOE BRAKES, FLAT DASH TOP, AND MORE COMFORTABLE SEATS. PLUS IT HAS THE RAM’S HORN CONTROL WHEELS, WHICH LOOK BETTER, FEEL BETTER, AND HAVE LARGER BEARINGS FOR A SMOOTHER PULL BULLET-PROOF 180 H.P. LYCOMING ENGINE GIVES A GOOD CRUISE SPEED, AND PLENTY OF POWER FOR SHORT OR SOFT FIELDS. THE 180 IS A TRUE 4 PLACE AIRPLANE, WITH OVER 5 HOURS OF FUEL, FOR REAL CROSS-COUNTRY FLYING. THE COWLING IS FIBERGLASS, NOT ALUMINUM, AND IS SMOOTHER, GOES ON AND OFF EASIER, AND DOESN’T CRACK AS EASILY. THIS PARTICULAR AIRPLANE HAS SOME GO FASTER/FLY BETTER OPTIONS, SUCH AS FLAP AND AILERON GAP SEALS AND METCO WINGTIPS. ALL OF THESE MODS ARE DESIGNED TO INCREASE CRUISE SPEED, DECREASE STALL SPEED, AND IMPROVE CONTROL THROUGHOUT THE FLIGHT ENVELOPE. WHEEL PANTS MAKES THE AIRPLANE FLY FASTER AND LOOK BETTER. THIS AIRPLANE DID NOT CRASH, OR RUN INTO ANYTHING !! WHILE SAFELY TUCKED AWAY IN A HANGER, A LARGE WINDSTORM (STRAIGHT LINE) DAMAGED THE HANGER DOOR, AND THE RESULTING WIND PUSHED THE AIRPLANE BACK INTO THE HANGER. THE MOST DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE STABILATOR AND TRIM TABS, WHICH WERE DAMAGED ENOUGH THAT THE OUTBOARD ENDS WERE JUST CUT OFF FOR TRANSPORT (BETTER THAN REMOVING A BAD PART, BECAUSE YOU DON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT HARDWARE OR LOOSE OR MISSING COMPONANTS)SOMETHING THAT WAS ON A SHELF IN THE BACK OF THE HANGER FELL ONTO THE TAILCONE ON THE RIGHT REAR, IN FRONT OF THE AFT BULKHEAD. THERE IS A RESULTING DENT IN THE FAR AFT OF THAT FAR AFT RIGHT TAILCONE SKIN. THE VERTICAL FIN HAS SOME PAINT MISSING ON THE RIGHT SIDE, FROM THAT SAME FALLING ITEM. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE VERTICAL FIN, OR RESKIN THAT PORTION, BUT IF YOU WOULD PREFER REPLACEMENT, WE WILL HAPPILY SUPPLY AN UNDAMAGED VERTICAL FROM OUR USED STOCK, AT NO CHARGE (YOU PAY SHIPPING) THE RUDDER WAS NOT SCRATCHED OR IMPACTED. THERE IS A RIP AND DENT IN THE TAILCONE ON THE BOTTOM COPILOT SIDE ( AS SHOWN IN PIC 13 ) THE RIGHT AILERON IS DENTED AND TWISTED, FROM HITTING AN ITEM IN THE BACK OF THE HANGER, BUT THE WING, TIP, FLAP, GEAR AND WHEELPANT ARE ALL UNDAMAGED. A SIMPLE BOLT-ON REPLACEMENT IS ALL THAT IS REQUIRED. THE LEFT SIDE WING, FLAP, AILERON, TIP, GEAR AND WHEELPANT ARE UNDAMAGED, BUT THE PAINT ON THE TOP OF BOTH WINGS IS SCRATCHED UP SOME AND STAINED FROM TRANSPORTATION AND SITTING ON THE GRASS, AND MIGHT NEED TOUCH UP OR TO BE REPAINTED. AS THEY OFTEN DO, BECAUSE THEY FLEX, THE FLAP AND AILERON GAP SEALS NEED A PAINT TOUCH-UP AS WELL. THE PAINT ON THE FUSELAGE IS FINE, IN GOLD AND DARK BLUE, BUT IT IS FAR FROM NEW, AND THERE IS A VERY SMALL AREA ON THE PILOT’S SIDE WINDSHIELD FRAME WITH PAINT MISSING. PROBABLY FROM THIS EVENT, BUT UNKNOWN. THE INTERIOR IS BROWN VINYL, IN DECENT SHAPE, NO CUTS OR TEARS. THE SIDEPANELS AND TRIM WERE REMOVED TO REMOVE WINGS FOR TRANSPORT, BUT ARE INCLUDED. THE DASH IS COMPLETE WITH ALL FLIGHT AND ENGINE INSTRUMENTATION, AS FLOWN. THIS AIRPLANE EVEN HAS A CENTRUY AUTOPILOT SYSTEM INSTALLED, WHICH IS QUITE RARE FOR THIS VINTAGE CHEROKEE, AND IT IS AMAZING HOW EVEN A SIMPLE WING LEVELOR CAN BE A HELP ON A CROSS-COUNTRY TRIP. THE RADIOS AND RADIO TRAYS WERE REMOVED AND ARE NOT INCLUDED, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE KING KX-170B TRAY, WIRING AND VOR INDICATOR, WHICH ARE STILL INSTALLED. THE 0-360 180 H.P. LYCOMING ENGINE, WHICH IS A SUPER ENGINE, EXTREMELY RELIABLE AND TOUGH, HAS 2101 HOURS SINCE MAJOR OVERHAUL, 3872 HOURS SINCE NEW, BUT ONLY 1,367 HOURS SINCE A COMPLETE 4 CYLINDER TOP OVERHAUL, IN 2001, WITH BRAND NEW LYCOMING CYLINDERS !!COMPRESSIONS AT THE LAST ANNUAL, OCTOBER OF 2017, WERE GREAT, AS YOU MIGHT EXPECT, ALL IN THE HIGH 70’S !!2101 SMOH THIS ENGINE WAS NOT DAMAGED !! NO PROP STRIKE OR SUDDEN STOPPAGE !! (NOT RUNNING AT THE TIME, OF COURSE) NO DAMAGE TO THE SENSENICH PROP EITHER !! REMEMBER, THIS WASN’T AN ACCIDENT OR WRECK !! NO DAMAGE TO THE COWLING OR NOSEGEAR NO DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE PHYSICALLY OR TO THE ENGINE MOUNT OR FIREWALL. IN FACT, EXCEPT FOR THE TWO BOLT ON SURFACES (STABILATOR AND RIGHT AILERON), AND THE DENT IN THE TAILCONE, THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THIS ENTIRE AIRFRAME !! DON’T LET IT FOOL YOU SITTING IN THE GRASS LIKE THIS, THIS AIRPLANE IS STILL IN CALENDAR ANNUAL UNTIL NOVEMBER 1ST, 2018 !!! IT LOOKS FORLORN NOW, BUT IT HAS BEEN REGULARILY FLOWN AND MAINTAINED PROPERLY!!! THIS IS A SUPER EASY REPAIR, AND WILL BE A GOOD CHOICE FOR SOMEONE TRYING TO GET INTO AN AIRPLANE THEY CAN ADD SOME SWEAT EQUITY TO AND GET MORE AIRPLANE FOR LESS MONEY! AND YOU WILL BE REWARDED WITH A TRUSTWORTHY CROSS-COUNTRY AIRPLANE FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, AT A PRICE LOWER THAN YOU COULD EVER BUY ONE FLYING !! SOLD WITH THE AIRFRAME AND ENGINE LOGBOOKS, THE FAA AIRWORTHINESS CERTIFICATE AND THE REQUIRED FAA BILL OF SALE. LOCATED NEAR NASHVILLE TENNESSEE.
