“Aircraft has been stored indoors in a garage for 12 years, and has been left in 95% complete state. Issues to be corrected before I would consider ready for flight: Covering is in good shape but original paint job by original builder (retired aeronautical engineer) was poorly applied and shows brush strokes throughout (possibly strip off covering sand and recover?). Unknown hours on Engine: Would send engine (Kawasaki 440 w/aircraft heads and carb) to J-Bird for credit/rebuild with electronic ignition and new lighter exhaust system. With new engine install I would replace the belt reduction belts due to age and rewire ignition. I would invest in a high quality GPS as well. Would replace entire fuel system including tank (easy to access in fuselage). Tires are passable but would replace with new larger tires to absorb more vibration from rough landing strips. Would have experienced builder do a full safety checkout of all systems after final assembly. Plane sold as is.”
Make: Fisher
Condition: See conditioned description above.
Features: Kit built from Fisher FP 303 plans. Includes flaps many spare aluminum stock parts as well as new wing strut structural aluminum tube. All control surfaces except rudder are connected via aluminum push rods and heim joints. rudder is pull pull cable arrangement with steerable tail wheel.
History: Original kit was finished to approximately 90-95% stage by retired aeronautical engineer who developed balance issues and had to sell the craft before ever flying it. Nearly completed aircraft was purchased roughly 12 years ago and stored in garage with the intention of finishing and flying the plane. Never having the money due to college expenses and life in general to finish it the way I thought it should be done the aircraft has sat stored for the last 12 years. I am taking a huge loss on this aircraft to clear out the garage space for new smaller projects.
Shipping and payment: This sale will be for local pick up in Port Charlotte only, you must bring your own trailer (20" enclosed trailer would be best), all parts, and assembled aircraft with engine prepared to be removed for transport and wings ready to be folded will be staged and ready for pick up in driveway. Earliest pick up Saturday May 30 @ 9:00 AM please as coordination to shuffle classic car and other shop equipment is required in order to pull aircraft out. (Aircraft left assembled for buyer inspection purposes manpower to remove engine and fold wings, or remove wings at buyers option, for transport will be provided by the seller. Help is welcome though!) Payment preferred through Cash, or Postal Money Order, $500 PayPal deposit requested at auction close.
