AND HAVE AN AIRPLANE THAT LOOKS, FEELS HANDLES, GOES, STOPS, ETC. LIKE A MUCH NEWER AIRPLANE!IN IT’S LIFESPAN, THE WINGS ARE ALL THE SAME SHAPE AND SIZE, THE FUSELAGE IS THE SAME SHAPE AND SIZE, SO THESE MODERN UPGRADES FIT PERFECTLY AND GIVE EVERYONE THE IMPRESSION OF A FAR NEWER AIRPLANE!THIS 1947 HAS ALL OF THOSE UPGRADES, AND MORE!E-225-8 225 H.P. ENGINE REPLACES THE ORIGINAL E-185.THE E-225 INSTALLED HERE HAS 1,087 SINCE OVERHAUL IN 2006 BY POPLAR GROVE, ONE OF THE BEST ENGINE SHOPS IN THE COUNTRY!IT TOO HAS BEEN UPGRADED, TO AN ALTERNATOR CONVERSION AND REMOTE OIL FILTER ADAPTER.OUTSIDE, THE MOST NOTICABLE MOD IS THE LARGE, TRAPASOID SHAPED REAR WINDOW (AS FIRST INSTALLED ON THE V-35). IMMEDIATELY THE AIRPLANE LOOKS 20 YEARS NEWER!A ONE PIECE WINDSHIELD (JUST REPLACED IN 2015) GETS RID OF THE CENTER DIVIDER.V-35B WINGTIPS WITH NAV LIGHTS AND STROBES UNDER GLASS UPDATE IT EVEN FURTHER!THE PAINTJOB IS CLEAN AND STRAIGHT, WITH A V-35A LOOK, WITH MAROON AND NAVY STRIPES.INSIDE, THE SEATS ARE SUPER COOL!4 HEAVILY BOLSTERED, MODERN PADDING LEATHER SEATS WITH MAROON AND BLUE STRIPES, REALLY MAKE A NICE STATEMENT!SHOULDER HARNESS S.T.C. ADDEDTHE DASH WAS MODIFIED TO ELIMINATE THE PIANO KEYS, MOVE THE MODERN STRIP GUAGES IN FRONT OF THE PILOT AND ADD A CENTER STACK FOR AVIONICS!AS YOU CAN SEE, THE FLIGHT INSTRUMENTS, SWITCHGEAR AND YOKE ARE INCLUDED, BUT ALL THE RADIO GEAR HAS BEEN REMOVED AND IS NOT INCLUDED HERE.AS YOU CAN SEE IF YOU LOOK AT THE PHOTOS WE HAVE INCLUDED, THIS AIRCRAFT HAS SUFFERED THE INDIGNITY OF A GEAR UP LANDING. THIS MEANS THE HARTZELL HYDRAULIC PROP IS BENT ON BOTH BLADES AND THE ENGINE HAS SUFFERED A PROP STRIKE(ALTHOUGH CONTINENTAL IS MUCH MORE REAASONABLE ON HOW THE ENGINE MUST BE INSPECTED AFTERWARDS THAN LYCOMING IS).THE AFT END OF THE NOSEGEAR DOORS, THE AFT END OF THE NOSEGEAR WELL AND THE BELLY SKINS ABOUT MIDWAY ON THE CABIN BELLY ARE DEFORMED.BOTH EXHAUST PIPES ARE SCRAPED AS WELL.THE FLAP TRAILING EDGES ARE SCRAPED, AS ARE THE INBOARD MAIN GEAR DOORS.THE STEP IS ALSO SCRAPED.THE ONLY VISIBLE GEAR DAMAGE IS TO ONE LOWER MAIN LEG, WHERE THERE IS SOME SCRAPING TO THE CASTING.THE WHEELS AND BRAKES ARE UNDAMAGED, WHICH IS NICE BECAUSE THEY WERE RECENTLY UPGRADED TO 600X6 CLEVELANDS!IN ADDITION TO THE FLAPS, THE ONLY OTHER DAMAGE TO THE CONTROL SURFACES IS TO 1 AILERON, WITH ONE TORN ALUMINUM SKIN.THE RUDDERVATORS SHOW NO DAMAGE.BOTH WINGS WERE UNDAMAGED AS WELL!ALL THE GLASS IS GOOD.THE DOOR SHUTS AND OPENS WELL.SO THIS AIRPLANE DESERVES TO BE REPAIRED!MANY UPDATES AND MODS, NO ONE WILL KNOW WHAT IT IS IF YOU DON’T TELL THEM!SOLD WITH AIRFRAME LOGBOOKS SINCE DAY 1 8/12/1947! TO THE PRESENT!LAST ANNUAL JUST EXPIRED 5/1/2021 AND THE AIRPLANE FLEW ALMOST 200 HOURS FROM THE LAST ANNUAL UNTIL THE INCIDENT HAPPENED, THIS IS NOT A SITTER!ENGINE LOGS SINCE 1959 AND THE POPLAR GROVE MAJOR IS NICELY DOCUMENTED AND COST OVER $30,000!THE EXTRA PAPERWORK INCLUDED IS AMAZING!
