1956 Piper Apache PA-23-150. Serial number 23-527. Low time airframe: 3892 TT. Left Engine 2968 TT since factory new, with 1514 since Penn Yann chrome major. Right Engine 2724 TT since factory new, with 1284 since Penn Yann chrome major. Props are old style and due for 5-year inspection. They have the same total times as the engines. All log books since new. Owner disassembled the tail to replace wind-damaged rudder, replace bad repair to channel supports (P.N. 19938), and removed two top fuselage skins (P.N. 17121-04, 17309-08) for cosmetic repair to remove a poorly installed dorsal fin and antenna mount (these skins have NOT been replaced, but the originals have been saved for easy duplication). All tail surfaces (including a used, undamaged rudder) transfer with sale. Small parts were bagged, tagged, and extensively photographed at removal for easy reassembly. Recent replacement parts include: Stainless steel “no AD” cabin heater (4 hours TT), new PMA’d fuel strainers, three of four fuel valves are factory new, light weight starter on both engines, new Woodward prop governor on left engine, digital tachometers. Also comes with desirable tail number: “N1ST.” Wherever you go, you’ll always be first! This plane is known as a “twin engine Piper Cub” for its reputation as a great-climbing, easy handling, reliable, heavy hauler. If you finish restoration, you’ll have a solid family station wagon of a plane that cruises reliably at 150-165 mph on 16 to 18 gallons total per hour with a 900 mile range. If you choose to part it out, it’s worth $20,000 or more in parts. Sold as-is where-is at Freeway Airport (W00) in Bowie, MD. Engines run fine, and run even better with clean plugs and clean air filters. Please note that the time stamps on the photos are not reliable.
