Item specifics Have a 172 that needs some cosmetic TLC but it has a straight corrosion free airframe. It has been sitting out on the ramp for the last 5 years in Hillsboro TX. It has poor P&I and will need a few small things before it could be ferried out. I did run it Recently (by spraying fuel into the air intake) runs good compressions ok (previous owner did pull it through once a month when he came out. but it needs a new fuel strainer bowl at the firewall, new fuel selector valve seals, new battery and the throttle and mixture cables new to be lubed or replaced, possibly carberator overhauled. The tires are dry rotted but ferryable. I"ve had this listed for a month on a classified site and have gotten endless tirekickers and low ballers offering anywhere from 500. (Yes someone emailed me and seriously told me since its been sitting 5 years it will have to be parted out and it would only be worth 500.....) to the highest offer of 10k. I"m just wanting what I"ve got in it back which is not much more than that BUT if you plan on offering anywhere in between 500. And 10k please don"t waste my time!! If you"re a first time plane buyer and don"t know anything about mechanics and your going to take it to a high priced FBO to have it allRedone this isn"t the plane for you; you"d probably be better off buying a little better one in annual for 20k. This is a good deal for a mechanically minded person that can do most of the little stuff themselves and have a good straight 172 for cheap. I will let it go for what I could literally part it out for but I don"t want to fool with that and it"s too good to tear apart just need to spend a good day or two putting the aforementioned parts on it and get it back in the air.
