1966 ALON A2 AIRCOUPE, 2599 TT, NEWER DASH, NEWER SEATS, NEWER WHEELS, W/PAPERWORK, CHEAP!THE 415 ERCOUPE WAS A MODERN DESIGN IN MANY WAYS WHEN IT WASINTRODUCED IN THE LATE 1940’SWHEN OTHER MANUFACTURERS WERE MAKING BASICLY THE SAME AIRPLANE AS IN THE 1930’S, (TAILDRAGGERS, STICKS, STRUT BRACED HIGH WINGS, BUNGEE MAIN GEAR), THE ERCOUPE WAS A TRICYCLE GEAR, LOW WING, OLEO GEARED SIDE BY SIDE WITH CONTROL WHEELS AND NO RUDDER PEDALS !! TO THIS DAY, THE ERCOUPE HAS A LOYAL FOLLOWING, WITH OWNERS TRYING TO OUTDO EACH OTHER WHEN THEY CAN.THIS LOYAL FOLLOWING RESULTED IN THE ERCOUPE BEING REVIVED AND HEAVILY REDESIGNED IN THE MID 1960’S BY ALON, WHICH RENAMED THE AIRPLANE AIRCOUPE A2.UPGRADES FOR THESE 1965-1966 MODELS INCLUDE:REDESIGNED INSTRUMENT LAYOUT IN A “SIX-PACK” CONFIGURATIONFLOATING INSTRUMENT PANEL, REDUCES VIBRATION ON FLIGHT INSTRUMENTSCENTER STACK FOR AVIONICSLATER STYLE RAM’S HORN CONTROL WHEELSMODERN SWITCHGEAR AND CIRCUIT BREAKERSRUDDER PEDALS!!!!!!!!!CLEVELAND 6:00X6 WHEELS AND MODERN DISC BRAKESSUPPORTIVE BUCKET SEATS WITH MODERN SEATBELTS REPLACE THAT FLAT, HARD BENCHTHIS AIRPLANE, ONE OF THE LAST 20 PRODUCED BY ALON (AIRWORTHINESS ISSUED 1/1967) HAS ALL OF THESE FEATURES AND MORE, AND THEY ARE ALL UNDAMAGED.BUT THIS AIRPLANE SUFFERED SERIOUS DAMAGE, WHEN THE HANGER IT WAS STORED IN IN NORTHEASTERN TEXAS SUFFERED DAMAGE AS A RESULT OF HURRICANE HARVEY (NOT IN A MOVING ACCIDENT)THE OUTBOARD WINGS AND COMPLETE TAIL WERE DAMAGED, AND WERE DISCARDEDTHERE IS OBVIOUS DAMAGE TO THE REAR FUSELAGE, CANOPY AND WINDSHIELD.BUT THE AIRFRAME IS NOT ALL BAD!THE WING CENTER SECTION, INCLUDING THE FRONT AND REAR SPARS AND GEAR ATTACH POINTS ARE UNDAMAGED. THERE IS A SMALL TEAR IN THE REAR SKIN ON THE LEFT SIDE LOWER, NOT STRUCTURAL.THE LANDING GEAR AND THOSE DESIREABLE CLEVELAND WHEELS AND BRAKES ARE GOODTHE FIREWALL IS HURT ON THE LOWER RIGHT SIDE, BUT THE REST OF THE BELLY AND CARRY-THROUGH SKINS LOOK OKNOTHING ON THE INSIDE APPEARS TO HAVE ANY DAMAGE.I WOULD EXPECT THAT A 415 OWNER LOOKING TO UPGRADE THEIR AIRPLANE, OR ANY ERCOUPE/AIRCOUPE OWNER WHO NEEDS THE CENTER SECTION FOR A REPAIR ON THEIR SHIP MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN THIS AIRPLANE.SOLD WITH THE ORIGINAL AIRWORTHINESS CERTIFICATE, THE FAA BILL OF SALE, LOGBOOKS SINCE 1976 AND COPIES OF THE FIRST ENGINE LOGS, WHICH SHOW ANNUALS STARTING IN 1967 AND THROUGH 1976, PLUS LOTS OF OTHER PAPERWORK, INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL FLIGHT MANUAL, THE ORIGINAL OWNERS MANUAL, PLUS FOLDERS FULL OF RECIEPTS, WEIGHT AND BALANCE, AD COMPIANCE, ETC.EVEN THE KEY IS IN THE IGNITION ! LOCATED AT OUR MAIN OFFICES AT THE CRYSTAL AIRPORT(KMIC), JUST NORTH OF MINNEAPOLIS MINNESOTA, WE WILL STORE THIS AIRPLANE AT NO CHARGE FOR 30 DAYS.THIS AIRPLANE WILL EASILY TRANSPORT ON EVEN A SMALL LIGHTWEIGHT TRAILERI HOPE YOU CAN USE WHAT THIS AIRPLANE HAS TO OFFER !GOOD BIDDING!
