Please note that this airplane is presently owned by, and being sold by, the Syracuse Flying Club Inc., which I currently serve as chairman/president. This is not my personal airplane. We bought N6437R a little over a year ago, when one of our airplanes was totaled in an accident, leaving a 40 member club with only a single airplane. In need of an immediate solution, we bought this bird from a neighboring flying club, intending for it to be a stop-gap solution until we permanently replaced our destroyed airplane. She has served our members admirably, and now is ready for a new home.
Although the engine is nearing TBO, it is running well, with most recent compressions in the mid 70s. Our club has a rigorous maintenance schedule, and it has received regular oil changes. She has been flown regularly. I would not hesitate to fly this airplane anywhere, with my family aboard -- at least, the ones who could fit! Annual was completed in June 2016. Transponder certification is current until 5/31/18, ELT inspection is due 3/31/17, battery replacement is due 12/31/20, altimeter and pitot static certification are due 5/2018. All ADs are complied with. The newer style bigger and better main gear torque links are installed.
The airplane is equipped for basic IFR, although we have used it as a VFR airplane. However, the attitude indicator displays a flag, which we have elected to not repair, as this does not affect VFR operation.
Realistically, this is an airplane you can buy for less than most of us spend on our cars, and either fly it for a while, then sell for pretty much what you paid for it, or overhaul the engine and have a good, basic airplane for years to come. I personally love flying this airplane! It"s very responsive to control inputs, and is just a blast to go up and enjoy basic flying. I"ll be sad to see it go. I"d have made an offer on it myself, but my wife says I already have access to enough airplanes, and if we were to buy one, it has to be one the whole family can use for travel.
I can be reached anytime through eBay e-mail, or by phone at 607-two two six-1620. If you have any questions I can"t answer, I"d be happy to put you in touch with our A&P who has maintained the airplane. Our maintenance officer has all the logs available. The aircraft is located in Syracuse, New York at Syracuse Hancock International Airport (KSYR) at Signature Flight Support.
