1969 Piper Cherokee 140 7450 TT2550 SMOHFresh top endIn annual and currently flyingThis is a really nice little beginner plane, I"d bought it damaged (student pilot messed up on a X-wind landing) and repaired the damage amongst overhauling the engine. I have since sold the engine off of it, and replaced it with a high time engine to reduce the cost. I just pulled all 4 cylinders and cleaned everything up, installed new rings, and ground the valves and seats. Wear on the pistons and cylinders were surprisingly minuscule, so I have no doubt this will run well for another several hundred hours. Bottom end looked nice when I had it apart (see pics) and oil pressure is about 75lbs, just where it should be. Battery was replaced with new when I fixed it all up, stabilitor bearings/hardware, pilot side universal was all replaced. Front strut was replaced with new and all new seals, I also replaced all the scissor linkage bushings and bolts. Metco tips were added (a must have for a cherokee in my opinion). The panel is basic VFR, it has 1 nav/com, transponder, and 4 pl intercom with music input. The #1 radio slot is pre-wired for a Garmin GNC250XL GPS, so literally if you wanted a second com and GPS, buy a unit, and an A&P signoff with probably a 30 min install time would be all. Bottom line, this is a solid little plane and will make for a great value. Here"s the problem though, the first airframe logbook was lost. I have the logs from 1982 to current on the airframe and birth on the engine. The price is clearly reflective of this. Feel free to ask any questions, as I am the IA that repaired it, and also the pilot that has put the last 30+ hrs on it. I can answer them. Please refrain from asking things that can be googled. This is an auction, the price is to buy. A prebuy is welcomed, but not a bargaining chip. The annual is coming due in July. I can annual it if negotiated, but for now I am selling it as is, reason being is most guys would want their own mechanic to go though it anyways, and I understand that. I have zero reservations with it passing a prebuy. I am not interested in trading for anything other than cash, so please refrain on temptations of lakefront property in the middle of the desert. |
