I am listing my 1969 Grumman Yankee AA1 with a 160 HP O-320 D2B engine. It is in great flying condition, the annual was complete April 22, 2018. Please read the entire listing before making your bid.
This is a great flying aircraft. It is currently flying from a mountain airport in Buena Vista, CO Elevation 7950 ft. With the O320 D2B 160HP engine it does fine at this altitude. It does even better at lower altitudes. It will take off at max gross weight at this airfield, but the climb out is slow (400 FPM) if the density altitude is 10000’. The empty weight is 1132 lbs., Max Gross weight 1600lbs, Max fuel 22 US Gal. I plan for two-hour legs. Around 250 nm depending on the winds. It will get around 127kts TAS at 11500 burning around 6.5 gph. It is a great aircraft that I have had since Nov 2010. I need to move up to something with more payload, my kids are getting too big to go with me in this one. Times will change a little since it is flying. I can assist the buyer with the pick-up. I May be able to deliver within reason for expenses. If you have not flown in the mountains it would be best if I bring it to a lower altitude for you. They can be unforgiving.
A deposit of $2000 is due within 48h through PayPal, the balance is due at pickup or prior to delivery through PayPal or bank wire transfer but not later than 7 days after the auction ends. Delivery for expenses only within the continental USA. I will have to work around my schedule for this to make it happen
If you bid on this item and meet the reserve price and are the highest bidder you have bought yourself an awesome airplane. It is recommended to inspect it before bidding, pre-buy inspections are of course welcome. Please coordinate early so it is done before the bidding ends. The aircraft is sold as is where is, I have done my best to cover everything in the listing but if you have questions please ask before bidding. If you want a detailed picture of something let me know and I will get it for you. Once the bidding ends it will go to the highest bidder unless the reserve is not met. The reserve is below the market value in my opinion. Bid early and often good luck.
