1972 SOCATA RALLYE 894A MINERVA, ONLY 1085 SNEW,5 SEAT, CANOPY, STICKS, LIGHT SCATTERED DAMAGE, CHEAP!THE RALLYE SERIES OF AIRPLANES WAS THE MAINSTAY OF THE FRENCH TOURING AND TRAINING FLEET THROUGH THE 1960’S AND 1970’S.ALTHOUGH EARLY RALLYES WERE 2 PLACE WITH LOW HORSEPOWER ENGINES, THEY ALSO PRODUCED 4-5 SEAT AIRPLANES WITH LOTS OF POWERE, LIKE THE 894A MINERVA FOR SALE HERE!IF YOU ARE A PLAIN WHITE BREAD TYPE OF PERSON, YOU PROBABLY WOULDN’T BE INTERESTED IN THE RALLYE, AS THEY ARE NOT SET UP LIKE A CHEROKEE OR 172.SLIDING CANOPY FOR GREAT VISABILITY AND ACCESS TO THE CABIN.STICK CONTROLS, NOT STEERING WHEELS, FOR THAT RESPONSIVE, FIGHTER-LIKE EXPERIENCE.FRONT BUCKETS BUT A REAR BENCH WITH 3 SETS OF SEATBELTS, APPROVED FOR 3 REAR PASSENGERS.AUTOMATIC LEADING EDGE SLATS, FOWLER FLAPS AND LARGE CONTROL SURFACES FOR FACTORY STOL CAPABILITIES!THE MINERVA WAS FACTORY EQUIPPED WITH THE FRANKLIN 6 CYLINDER 220 H.P. ENGINE, FOR EXCELLENT CLIMB, REDUCED RUNWAY REQUIREMENTS AND HIGHER CRUISE SPEEDS.IMAGINE A ROOMIER GRUMMAN TIGER, WITH STICK CONTROLS, EXCELLENT STOL FEATURES AND 40 MORE HORSEPOWER, AND YOU WILL GET THE IDEA!THIS AIRCRAFT HAS AN INCREDABLY LOW TOTAL TIME OF 1,085 SNEW!REASSEMBLED IN THE U.S. IN 1974 AND FLOWN REGULARILY BUT SPARRINGLY.THE RECENT LOGBOOKS SHOW REGULAR MAINTENANCE, UPDATES AND UPGRADES AND THIS AIRCRAFT’S LAST ANNUAL INSPECTION WAS JANUARY, 2021, SO IT IS TECHNICALLY STILL IN ANNUAL!!NOT A SITTER OR BARN FIND, THIS AIRCRAFT HAS BEEN IN REGULAR USE THIS YEAR!UNFORTUNATELY, THE TOP FIBERGLASS COWLING WAS NOT FULLY ATTACHED AND IT CAME OFF JUST AFTER TAKEOFF!THE TOP COWLING BROKE THE WINDSHIELD, THE RIGHT UPPER SKYLIGHT IN THE CANOPY, DENTED THE DORSAL FAIRING FORWARD OF THE VERTICAL FIN (BUT DID NOT HURT THE VERTICAL OR RUDDER) AND FLEW AWAY.THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO MAKE A GOOD LANDING STRAIGHT AHEAD ON A FLAT AREA AND KEPT THE WHEELS UNDER IT, BUT IT DID PICK UP SOME DAMAGE TO THE WING LEADING EDGES/SLATS AND HORIZONTAL LEADING EDGES FROM BUSHES IN THE FIELD.SO THE DAMAGE IS AS FOLLOWS:LEFT WING SLAT ¾ OUTBOARD AND CLOSE INBOARD (SLIGHT)LEFT WING LOWER FAR OUTBOARD LOWER FLAT SKIN. THE HORNER DESIGN WINGTIP IS NOT DAMAGED. THE LEFT MAIN SPAR IS UNDAMAGED.THE LEFT GEAR LEG, WITH CLEVELAND WHEELS AND BRAKES IS UNDAMAGED.THE RIGHT WING IS DENTED INBOARD AND AT THE SLAT INBOARD.THE RIGHT MAIN SPAR IS UNDAMAGED.THE RIGHT GEAR LEG, FAIRING, WHEEL AND BRAKE ARE UNDAMAGED.THE RIGHT FLAP HAS A SMALL CUT IN THE LOWER SKIN.THE HORIZONTAL STABILIZER IS DAMAGED ON BOTH THE LEFT AND RIGHT LEADING EDGES.AS STATED, THE VERTICAL FIN AND RUDDER ARE NOT DAMAGED AND THE RIGHT AND LEFT ELEVATORS ARE NOT DENTED, BUT THE RIGHT ELEVATOR BOTTOM SKIN HAS A HOLE IN IT.THE CANOPY IS UNDMAGED EXCEPT FOR THE ONE SKYLIGHT PANEL (AVAILABLE NEW) AND THE CANOPY OPENS AND CLOSES EASILY AS IT SHOULD.THE WINDSHIELD IS BROKEN, BUT IT TOO IS READILY AVAILABLE BRAND NEW.THE WINDSHIELD FRAME IS NOT DAMAGED.THE FIREWALL AND ENGINE MOUNT ARE NOT DAMAGED AND THE NOSEGEAR ASSEMBLY IS ALSO GOOD.THE ENGINE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS LISTING!THE 220 H.P. FRANKLIN IS READILY AVAILABLE ON THE OPEN MARKET, FROM US OR OTHERS.INCLUDED ARE THE EXHAUST SYSTEM (THE VERY EDGES OF THE TAILPIPES HAVE A SLIGHTLY RAGGED EDGE, WILL TRIM UP) AND THE INDUCTION AIRBOX, AS WELL AS INSTALLATION HARDWARE.THERE IS HARDWARE FROM THE WHOLE AIRFRAME DISASSEMBLY AS WELL.THERE IS NO FIREWALL DAMAGE AND ALL FIREWALL MOUNTED ITEMS AND WIRING ARE INSTALLED AND INCLUDED.THE ENGINE CONTROL CABLES WERE UNBOLTED, NOT CUT AND ARE STILL INSTALLED.THE FIBERGLASS SPINNER IS SLIGHTLY CRACKED BUT IT AND THE UNDAMAGED BACKING PLATE ARE INCLUDED.THE LOWER COWL, INCLUDING OPTIONAL FAIRED IN LANDING LIGHT, IS UNDAMAGED.THE LIGHT BELLY SKINS AFT OF THE FIREWALL AND BEFORE THE NAIN SPARS ARE DENTED IN. THESE ARE A COVERING ONLY, NOT A STRUCTURAL PIECE, AND LITERLLY ARE HELD ON BY SCREWS!THE BALANCE OF THE AIRFRAME IS UNDAMAGED!NO UPPER FUSELAGE OR TAILCONE DAMAGE AT ALL!THE SPAR CARRYTHOUGH IS NOT DAMAGED (A SMALL EXTERNAL SKIN TEAR DURING WING REMOVAL, SMALL PATCH ONLY REQUIRED.INSIDE, THE FRONT BUCKET SEATS WERE REMOVED AFTER THE ACCIDENT AND STORED OUTSIDE, BESIDE THE AIRPLANE, WHERE THE COVERS BECAME MOULDY, SO WE REMOVED THE COVERS. THE SEAT FOAM AND STRUCTURES ARE FINE. The rear seat structures are intact and ok.THE DASH IS A VERY MODERN SETUP, WITH LARGE CENTER STACK FOR AVIONICS, MODERN 6 PACK LAYOUT AND FULL ENGINE INSTRUMENTATION. MODERN SWITCHGEAR AND CIRCUIT BREAKERS AS WELL.THIS SUPER LOW TIME AIRFRAME IS VERY REPAIRABLE, WITH MOST REQUIRED REPAIRS BEING TO SIMPLE SHEET METAL, BUT FACTORY PARTS ARE STILL AVAILABLE FROM SOCATA AS WELL.
