This aircraft was purchased at an auction sale by the current owner in late 2015. The aircraft had been out of annual for approximately 2 years as the previous owner lost interest in the Navajo and preferred to fly on his Cessna Caravan and Falcon Jet. Difficult times I guess. The previous owner was a large construction company, this aircraft was well cared for and no expenses were spared. This aircraft was always parked in a heated hangar. The new owner knows very little about aviation. He is not a pilot or mechanic. He usually deals in heavy equipment. He was excited, he got a good deal on a beautiful airplane! This looked like so much fun! My business was asked to perform an annual inspection on the aircraft. Here is a list of the work accomplished:100 hour/ Annual inspection New Gill G-246 batteryOil and filter changeNew fuel cap sealsNew aileron rod end bearingsNew nose oleo sealsNew pressure system air filtersNew hydraulic filtersApproximately 1500$ worth of exhaust system parts (AD)Pitot / Static / Transponder test and re-certificationADs completed:2013-10-04 Exhaust System2015-19-07 Fuel lines2004-25-16 R1 Fuel regulator Shut-off valve2004-21-05 Pressure decay test2003-24-07 Rudder tube2009-13-06 R1 Nose Baggage doorAccording to our research, all ADs are up to date.
We ran the engines, changed the oil... Unfortunately, something looked suspicious in the R/H oil filter. We removed a cylinder and according to our observation, the camshaft appears unserviceable. The R/H engine will likely need a different camshaft or considering the engine time in service, complete overhaul. This came as a shock to the owner, and that was before we gave him an estimate for the repair. Let"s just say that this fun airplane idea no longer is. I have done my best to explain why things are expensive in aviation but that seemed to upset him even more. So here we are now. He wants to sell. He does not want to put more money into it. He wants out. He is hoping to get what he paid for it. The aircraft is currently set up for 6 passenger seat. Also included in the sale are seat 7 (belted potty) and seat 8. It appears that some of the installation hardware for seat 7 and 8 might be missing. The previous owner is looking for the missing parts. I think that it is unlikely that they will be found and it is assumed that you will need to obtain these parts yourself if you desire to install those seats. The passenger seats are grey vinyl with red velour. The pilot seats are grey leather. Seats are in good condition. The carpets are in good condition but could use a steam clean. Overall rated at 8/10 but slightly dated in scheme.Aircraft is also for sale locally and in other media and I reserve the right to end the auction early and without notice.
We have been asked to broker the sale:
The title is free and clear. We have been paid for our maintenance work up to date. The hangar fees are up to date. There are no liens.Logbook are included from date of manufacture. Nothing missing.
Terms of sale:
We will accept a sale conditional on aircraft inspection and technical records review. We will give you 21 days after auction close to do your homework and complete the transaction. Hangar fees will be your responsibility 21 days after auction close. 3000$ USD deposit required within 48 hours of auction close or the aircraft will be relisted. If you need more time, contact me before bidding. The aircraft will be sold with a fresh annual inspection. Outstanding item will be the R/H engine requiring work. You will either need a ferry permit or to repair the R/H engine before flying away. Specifications subject to verification by purchaser.
