THE AIRPLANE DROPPED IN FROM TOO HIGH, AND THE NOSE GEAR AND LEFT MAIN GEAR SUFFERED DAMAGE AS A RESULT
THE DAMAGE IS AS FOLLOWS:
LEFT GEAR LEG, WHICH IS FIBERGLASS, IS DELAMINATED, AND WILL REQUIRE REPLACEMENT. THE ATTACHMENT POINT IN THE WING, HOWEVER, APPEARS TO BE UNDAMAGED
THE LEFT WHEEL PANT, AND THE WHEEL PANT ATTACHING BRACKETS ARE DESTROYED, BUT THE HEAVY DUTY CLEVELAND WHEEL AND BRAKE LOOK GOOD
TO GET AN IDEA OF HOW FAR THE LANDING GEAR MOVED AS IT DELAMINATED, THE WHEEL PANT OUTBOARD ATTACHING NUT DROVE UP INTO THE LEFT WING, AND PUNCTURED A 2-3 INCH HOLE IN THE BOTTOM SKIN. THIS SMALL AREA IS, OF COURSE, PATCHABLE, AND THIS IS THE ONLY AREA ON THE FUSELAGE OR WINGS THAT NEEDS ANY COMPOSITE WORK !!!
THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE LEFT FLAP, AILERON, TIP OR STROBE LIGHT
THERE IS NO OTHER APPARENT DAMAGE TO THE LEFT WING OR CENTER SECTION, AND THE COMPLETE RIGHT WING, GEAR, SURFACES,TIP AND WHEELPANT ARE UNDAMAGED !!!!!
THE NOSEGEAR ON A CIRRUS IS A BENT PIECE OF ROUND SPRING STEEL, ATTACHED AND ALLOWED TO PIVOT AT THE ENGINE MOUNT LOWER TUBES, AND DAMPED BY A STACKED SET OF RUBBER BISCUITS WHICH ATTACH TO THE TOP OF THE MOUNT
THE HARD LANDING BROKE ONE OF THE TWO ATTACHMENT POINTS ON THE ENGINE MOUNT FOR THE UPPER, BISCUIT SUPPORTS. THE MOUNT WILL REQUIRE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT
THE SPRING STEEL NOSE LEG ITSELF SEEMS LIKE IT IS POSSIBLY BENT AT ITS VERY BOTTOM EDGE, WHERE THE FORK ATTACHES. I BASE THIS MOSTLY ON THE MISSING PAINT IN THIS AREA
THE FORK ITSELF, AND THE NOSE WHEEL, BOTH LOOK OK
THE NOSE TUBE TOUCHED 3 AREAS WHEN IT WAS ALLOWED MORE THAN ITS NORMAL TRAVEL:
1 )THERE IS A 4" LONG CRACK IN ONE SIDE OF THE TWO PIECE LOWER COWL, ALL MATERIAL IS STILL THERE, SUPER SMALL, EASY REPAIR
2)THE VERY AFT EDGE OF THE NOSE TUBE SUPPORT GRAZED THE FIREWALL SKIN. THESE ARE SMALL, SHALLOW 1/4" AREA, JUST A LIGHT DENT, NO CUT OR TEAR
3)THERE IS A FAINT DENT IN THE LOWER CENTER OF THE ENGINE SUMP. AGAIN NO TEAR OR CREASE, AND IT IS EITHER A TAP OUT, OR LEAVE AS IS
THE PROPELLOR IS BENT ON ALL 3 BLADES, BUT THE POLISHED SPINNER IS UNDAMAGED
THE TOP AND LEFT SIDE LOWER COWLS ARE UNDAMAGED
THE ENGINE MOUNTING LEGS, WHICH ATTACH TO THE TUBULAR MOUNT ARE ALL UNDAMAGED
THE ENTIRE CABIN, INCLUDING DOORS, WINDSHIELD, TAIL AND TAIL FEATHERS, IS COMPLETELY UNDAMAGED !!
THE INTERIOR HEADLINER AND SIDE PANELS WERE REMOVED TO CONFIRM NO FUSELAGE DAMAGE, BUT THEY ARE ALL INCLUDED AND UNDAMAGED
THE GREY LEATHER UPHOLSTERY LOOKS GOOD
I JUST REMOVED THE RADIO PANEL UNITS, INDICATORS AND ANTENNAS YESTERDAY, AND THESE UNITS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION.
THE AUTOPILOT SERVOS AND TRIM SERVOS, AND THE BIG CENTRAL MFD ARE INSTALLED AND INCLUDED, AS ARE ALL OF THE ENGINE INSTRUMENTATION AND MOST OF THE FLIGHT INSTRUMENTS, AS SHOWN!!
