This Cirrus, N5205X, has been a project of mine since the
spring of 08. It was in a taxiing accident in Pennsylvania and I brought it to
SD. You can find the NTSB report here. here The damage was to the leading edge of the right wing and to
the fuselage rear attach point. Also a prop strike. The engine was removed and
taken to Central Cylinder in Omaha, Neb. torn down and inspected with
everything checking out OK. A used propeller was purchased and rebuilt by
Duncan Aviation in Lincoln, Neb. The engine is installed and operational. The
aircraft will start, run, taxi and all avionics are operational. The wing and
fuselage are repaired and everything is back together except for these items: 1)
Wing Root Fairings need to be purchased from
Cirrus and installed. 2)
Belly close-out panel needs to be installed. 3)
Parachute is timed-out and needs to be repacked.N Nose wheel fairing needs to be installed. The work was completed by an IA who was experienced in
composite repairs. I have all the paperwork on this aircraft. Airworthiness Certificate
is with the aircraft. Nothing is missing. Prop, engine, airframe logs are all
here with very good records but I do not have them digitized. Compression at
last annual was #1 76/80 #2 75/80 #3 76/80
#4 73/80 #5 74/80 #6 72/80. The aircraft was deregistered but I
have kept the Registration Number reserved for the past 7 years. It is a very
simple process to get the plane reregistered. Basic Cirrus avionics with Garmin 430,
420 GPS, 330 transponder, S-Tec 30 auto-pilot and Avidyne 5000 MFD. It’s likely I’m forgetting something in this description so
please ask questions. I would appreciate phone calls rather than emails since
I’m not around the computer much. BUT PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY SO
YOU DON’T ASK REPEAT QUESTIONS AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK. THIS IS A COMPLEX AIRCRAFT
AND REQUIRES AN AP/IA SIGN OFF ON ALL REPAIRS. The repairs will have to be
completed in SD in order to ferry or remove the wing in order to transport.
