Curtiss Jenny 2/3 scale airplane. This plane was built in 1992 by Walter Treadwell, and carries serial number 3. Sale includes the engine, fuselage, tail feathers, wings, seats, struts, cables, etc. The total time on the airframe appears to be in the 170 hour range, the engine about 60. The plane needs some attention. I bought it a couple months ago hoping I could convert it to qualify for ultralight status, but it"s too heavy to make that practical, and I don"t have a license to fly LSA aircraft. According to the previous owner, the plane had a rough landing in a field in 2003 that caused minor damage. He stored the wings carelessly, so the two lower wings need new leading edge spars and repairs to the ribs or replacement of them altogether. and the lower wings would also need to be recovered. I saved the six metal parts from the lower wings that connect the leading edge to the struts. The upper wings appear to be okay except minor damage to the trailing edge - see picture. The plane has a Rotax engine in it, 66 HP. I"m not an airplane expert but will try to answer any questions you have. Additional photos available on request. I would also consider selling the engine and plane separately - if I can find a buyer for both. Sale of the engine would include the gear reduction, starter motor, oil tank and muffler - shipping would be paid by the buyer. The plane would include everything except those engine partst; fuselage, tail, four wings, seats, spare windshields, struts, cabling, landing gear, and log book. The landing gear needs some repairs, and the fuselage fabric has a few holes and other minor defects. Please direct inquiries to Chris.
