1975 BEECH F-33A BONANZA, 4474 TT, 1262 IO-520BA, FRONT DAMAGED, CHEAP !!
THE F-33A IS THE FINAL UPGRADE FOR THE STRAIGHT TAIL ORIGINAL FUSELAGE BONANZA LINE, THAT STARTED WITH THE 33 DEBONAIR
FROM 1974 ON TO THE 1990"S WHEN THE 4 SEAT STRAIGHT TAIL F33A SERIES CEASED PRODUCTION, THERE WERE VERY VERY FEW, SMALL DETAIL CHANGES.
THIS 1975 MODEL HAS VIRTUALLY ALL OF THE FEATURES AND MODS FROM THE FACTORY THAT A 1995 F-33A WOULD!!
NO STABILITY PROBLEMS IN FLIGHT, OR TAIL OVERSTRESS CONCERNS, AND, AS EVERYBODY KNOWS, WITH THE SAME IO-520 POWER, THE SPEED IS VIRTUALLY THE SAME AS THE LESS SAFE, LESS STABLE V-TAIL

THE KFC 200 IS THE MOST STABLE AUTOPILOT AVAILABLE, AND IS DESIGNED TO FLY THE AIRPLANE FOR YOU PRECISELY, IN ALL PHASES OF FLIGHT, RIGHT THROUGH THE APPROACH.
IT FEATURES ALTITUDE HOLD, WING LEVELING, VOR/LOC COUPLING, GLIDESLOPE COUPLING, AND AUTOMATIC OR MANUAL PITCH TRIM !!
OK, THIS IS A NICE AIRPLANE, BUT THERE ARE CERTAIN THING ALL AIRPLANES NEED TO OPERATE PROPERLY.
ONE VERY IMPORTANT ONE IS AN UNINTERRUPTED FUEL SUPPLY TO THE ENGINE !!
THERE IS SOME QUESTION AS TO WETHER THE PILOT OF THIS AIRPLANE PROPERLY POSITIONED THE BOOST PUMP FOR TAKE-OFF, BUT THIS HAS NOT BEEN CONFIRMED. WHAT IS KNOWN IS THAT THE AIRCRAFT SPUTTERED AND QUIT JUST AFTER TAKE-OFF FROM THE THUN AIRPORT, PAYULLUP WASHINGTON AIRPORT (JUST SOUTH OF SEATTLE)
THE PILOT SET IT DOWN IN A FLAT AREA JUST OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY, BUT THE NOSE FORK BROKE OFF ON AN OBSTRUCTION, ALLOWING THE FRONT OF THE AIRPLANE TO COM INTO CONTACT WITH THE GROUND !!
DAMAGE IS TO THE KEEL SECTION (STRUCTURE THAT COMES OUT FORWARD FROM THE FIREWALL, AND SUPPORTS THE NOSEGEAR AND ENGINE), WHICH INCLUDES THE LOWER "COWL", AS WELL AS TO THE NOSEGEAR DOORS.
THE TOP COWL IS UNDAMAGED, AND VERY IMPORTANTLY, THE BOOTCOWL (JUST AFT OF THE FIREWALL AND IN FRONT OF AND AROUND THE WINDSHIELD, AND BACK TO THE DOOR OPENING), IS NOT DAMAGED !!!!
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT, AS IT APPEARS THAT ALL OF THE FRONT END DAMAGE IS TO THE KEEL ONLY!!!
WITH THE ENGINE AND ALL ACCESSORIES INSTALLED, IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE THE FIREWALL, BUT I SAW NO OBVIOUS BENDING OR DAMAGE TO IT ON MY PERSONAL INSPECTION.
THE NOSE FORK CASTING BROKE AND WILL NEED REPLACEMENT, BUT THE UPPER TRUNION LOOKS GOOD AND SITS STRAIGHT IN THE WELL, AND THE CHROME AND SCISSORS ARE STILL INTACT AND LOOK OK, SO THE NOSEGEAR DAMAGE IS ACTUALLY VERY MINIMAL
UNFORTUNATELY, WHEN THE WHEEL BROKE OFF, IT CAME UNDER THE RIGHT WING, AND DID THE FOLLOWING DAMAGE:
THERE IS A 4" CUT IN THE BOTTOM WING SKIN
THE RIGHT FLAP HAS A LARGE DENT IN THE BOTTOM
THE OUTBOARD LEADING EDGE SKIN OF THE RIGHT SIDE HORIZONTAL STABILIZER (THE STAB IS 2 SEPARATE PIECES, LEFT AND RIGHT) IS DENTED AND OPENED UP, BUT THE SPAR, REAR SKINS, AND THE BALANCE OF THE RIGHT STAB ARE NOT DAMAGED.
THE LEFT STAB, BOTH ELEVATORS, THE STINGER AND THE VERTICAL AND RUDDER ARE UNDAMAGED !!
THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE MAIN GEAR, OR THE MAIN GEAR DOORS
AS THE MAINS DIDNT GET DAMAGED, THE BELLY DIDNT GET DAMAGED !!
IN FACT THE WHOLE FUSELAGE AFT OF THE KEEL, FROM THE FIREWALL ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE TAIL APPEARS UNDAMAGED !!
NOT LIKE ALL THE SCRAPING OF A GEAR UP AT ALL !!
DOORS SHUT EASILY AND COMPLETELY !!
THE ONLY OTHER CASUALTY SEEMS TO BE THE RIGHT WINGTIP.
THE PLEXIGLASS OVER THE STROBE IS BROKEN, AND THERE IS SOME SMALL DENTING TO THE TIP, AND SOME SHALLOW DENTS/SCRATCHES TO THE OUTBOARD LEADING EDGE SKIN, ABOUT 4 INCHES FROM THE TIP. THIS IS ALL EASILY STRAIGHTENED/FILLED, AND REPLACEMENT OF THIS WING SKIN WILL NOT BE REQUIRED.
THE 3 BLADE PROP HAS 2 BENT BACK BLADES, BUT THE 3RD LOOKS GREAT, NOT EVEN SCRATCHED, CONSISTENT WITH THE REPORT THAT THE ENGINE WAS NOT TURNING.
THE POLISHED SPINNER LOOKS GOOD
THERE IS NO OTHER KNOW DAMAGE TO THIS AIRPLANE !!
TOTAL AIRFRAME TIME IS ONLY 4,474
TIME SINCE MAJOR ON THE IO-520BA ENGINE IS 1262
