I"ve been flying this airplane for two years. It has about 270 hours on the 100-Hp Rotax 912 ULS. The plane also has a BRS chute, and it is based at Concord, NC, KJQF.
I"ve uploaded a pricing list so you can see how all of the options add up, from Zenith new pricing to my used estimate, then Used Install price (my estimate of the building and labor cost).
There are several unique things about my airplane:The LRI (Lift Reserve Indicator) is a valuable instrument. The reason that the angle of attack indicator is more useful than airspeed is because a stall can occur at different indicated airspeeds, depending on the angle of bank and weight so that if you want to maneuver at the edge, the airspeed indicator is not the best indication. For example, at a bank angle of 75 degrees, the stall speed has doubled. On the other hand, "they" say that no matter what the conditions, stall always occurs at the same angle of attack of the wing to the air stream. This device gives an indication of the angle with a needle moving into the red bar when at the stall angle. Overall, the green, yellow, red segments on the gauge make for an easy to read instrument. The gauge measures the difference in pressure at two points on a probe mounted outboard of the prop slipstream. It could be described as a non-electronic or mechanical instrument.
The BRS chute will give you peace of mind, especially when flying over mountainous or forested terrain.
As you can see from the images, the paint job is beautiful!
The transponder, trim, lights and 406 ELT are other upgrades that make this plane a deal at $39K.
I will also include a couple of additional items for an extra $1,000: Two like new Bruce"s covers for cockpit, fuselage and all tail surfaces ($960 value new), and like new Woodcomp propeller and hub ($1,500 value). I purchased the propeller recently because it came with a new spinner that I needed to replace.
