THIS TYPE WOULD BE EASY SLIDE IN IF YOU HAVE SOME OR PURCHASE USED, OR UPDATE AS FAR AS YOU LIKE INSTEAD!THE IO-470K ENGINE HAS 1,037 SFACT REMAN, BUT HAS SUFFERED A PROP STRIKE TO THE 2 BLADE MCCAULEY PROP DURING THE GEAR UP INCIDENT.THE ENGINE ITSELF HAS BEEN UPGRADED WITH:SLICK MAGSREMOTE SPIN ON OIL FILTERALTERNATOR CONVERSIONBOTH BLADES OF THE 2 BLADE MCCAULEY PROP ARE BENT AND SCRAPED, AS YOU WOULD EXPECT.THE GEAR ITSELF IS FINE, AS ARE THE MOTOR AND ACTUATOR RODS. THIS WAS AN “I FORGOT”, NOT AN EARLY RETRACTION OR LATE EXTENSION!THE DAMAGE TO THE BELLY OF THE AIRPLANE IS ALSO AS YOU MAY EXPECT, WITH SOME SCRAPING STARTING AT THE REAR EDGE OF THE NOSE GEAR DOORS AND EXTENDING TO AVOUT MIDCABIN.ADDITIONALLY, THE EXHAUST PIPES ARE BOTH SCRAPED ON THE ENDS.THE BELLY MAY HAVE SOMEWHAT LESS DAMAGE THAN NORMAL DUE TO THE SACRIFICIAL DAMAGE TO THE FLAPS, WHICH WERE FULLY DOWN AND ARE SCRAPED BAD, WITH ONE HAVING SOME DENTING.THE FLAPS AND A FEW ANTENNAS AND THE ROTATING BEACON HELPED KEEP THE BELLY UP.WHAT TOOK NO DAMAGE IS THE INBOARD GEAR DOORS, WHICH OFTEN SUFFER BADLY IN A GEAR UP.HERE THE FLAPS TOOK IT INSTEAD OF THE INBOARDS.THE LEFT WING SUFFERED SCRAPING TO THE TOP SURFACE AND A SMALL DENT AND SMALL PUNCTURE TO THE BOTTOM INBOARD AFTER REMOVAL, WHEN AN ITEM SCACKED ON THE WING POKED THROUGH.NO SPAR OR STRUCTURAL DAMAGE, JUST LIGHT ISOLATED SKIN ABRAISIONS.THE RIGHT WING DID NOT SUFFER THIS POST DISASEMBLY PROBLEMTHIS AIRCRAFT IS DISTINTIVE DUE TO IT’S ALLOVER NAVY BLUE PAINTJOB, WITH BRIGHT RED AND WHITE ACCENTS, RATHER THAN THE TRADITIONAL ALL-OVER WHITE.The colors and the scheme are attractive as well as being distintive.ONE MOD THAT HASN’T BEEN DONE ON THIS AIRPLANE IS THE LARGE 3RD WINDOW MOD, BUT THE PAINT JOB SURE FOOLS YOU INTO THINKING THIS AIRPLANE HAS THE LATE MODEL TRAPAZOIDAL REAR WINDOW OF THE F-33!THIS WILL BE A GREAT PROJECT, AND YOU WILL END UP WITH A NICE AIRPLANE YOU CAN BE PROUD OF WHEN COMPLETED.SOLD WITH AIRFRAME AND ENGINE LOGBOOKS FROM NEW TO 1990, THEN STARTING WITH AN ADLOG FROM 2009 TO THE PRESENT.
